Frequently Asked Questions

What will happen on my first appointment?

If you're considering therapy, you might be wondering what to expect from your first counselling session. During our first meeting, we'll start by getting to know each other and discussing your goals for therapy. I'll ask you some questions about your background, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to get out of our sessions. I'll also share some information about my approach, confidentiality and answer any questions you might have. It's normal to feel nervous or uncertain during your first session, but please know that I'm here to support you and make you feel as comfortable as possible. By the end of our first session, we'll have a better sense of whether we're a good fit and whether therapy feels like the right choice for you. If you decide to continue with therapy, we'll schedule our next session and start working towards your goals.

What about confidentiality?

Yes, our sessions will be completely confidential except if any safeguarding concerns arise which will be clearly explained during your first session.
